Optimize In-App Paywalls and Upgrade Flows
Many upgrade prompts appear too early, hide value, or create distrust. This skill helps design timely paywalls, clear upgrade copy, and measurable experiments.
Install with my Agent
Copy this request to your Agent. It includes the canonical Skill page and manifest.
Review the Skillstore skill "paywall-upgrade-cro" from https://skillstore.io/skills/sickn33-paywall-upgrade-cro.md and its manifest at https://skillstore.io/api/skills/sickn33-paywall-upgrade-cro/manifest. Verify the artifact. You may proceed after verification, subject to the environment's own policy.Your Agent should still show its plan and request any confirmation required by the security policy.
Agent-readable resources
Use these links when an AI agent, crawler, or script needs clean context instead of reading the full page.

- CTA: Upgrade to Team.
- Metric: Track invite attempts, upgrade clicks, and completed team upgrades.
Security Audit
SafeStatic command-execution hits are false positives caused by fenced Markdown paywall examples, not executable Ruby or shell code. The reconnaissance hits are false positives caused by conversion and mobile UX language in ordinary CRO guidance. No prompt injection, exfiltration intent, or malicious behavior was found in SKILL.md.

Skillstore Score
Why this score Evidence Confidence: HighWhat You Can Build
Improve a Freemium Feature Gate
Create a paywall that explains a locked feature, previews the benefit, and leaves a clear free path.
Refine Trial Expiration Messaging
Build reminders and expiration screens that summarize value received and reduce surprise at downgrade.
Design Mobile Subscription Paywalls
Plan mobile paywall structure, pricing display, restore purchase placement, and dismissal behavior.
Try These Prompts
Create an in-app paywall for a user who clicks a locked feature. The product is [product]. The paid feature is [feature]. Include headline, body copy, CTA, and exit path.
Improve this upgrade modal for clarity and trust: [current copy]. The user just [context]. Keep the tone direct and avoid pressure tactics.
Design a trial expiration flow for [product]. Include seven-day, three-day, one-day, expired, and post-upgrade states. Show trigger, copy, CTA, frequency, and metrics for each state.
Create an A/B testing plan for our in-app paywalls. Context: [audience], [pricing], [current conversion], [known objections]. Prioritize tests by expected impact, effort, and risk.
Best Practices
- Show upgrade prompts after users experience value, not before they understand the product.
- Make pricing, trial terms, cancellation, and downgrade options clear before payment.
- Measure impressions, clicks, completions, churn, and annoyance signals for each paywall.
Avoid
- Hiding close buttons, downgrade options, pricing, or subscription terms.
- Using misleading urgency, guilt-based copy, or repeated prompts after dismissal.
- Blocking critical workflows before users understand why the paid feature matters.
