Highest confirmed finding severity

High

1 confirmed security finding requires attention.

Installation context

Historical evidence

This report may not describe the currently installable artifact. Open the current Skill page for install guidance.

This report does not block or authorize the manifest or ZIP.

The static findings are false positives from chemistry notation, Markdown code fences, benign RDKit examples, and user-directed output files. No prompt injection or covert external command behavior was found, but the documentation includes unsafe pickle loading guidance that can become code execution with untrusted files.

Risk findings

Confirmed security concerns are separated from items that still need review.

Confirmed security concerns (1)

RISK-001 High
Unsafe Pickle Deserialization Guidance
SKILL.md recommends loading molecules with pickle.load without warning users to trust the file. Loading an attacker-controlled pickle can execute Python code.
The documented example directly calls pickle.load on a local file. The risk depends on whether users reuse it with untrusted data.

Remediation

Suggested fixes recorded by this audit. Applying them is the maintainer’s responsibility.

  1. FIX-001
    High
    Unsafe pickle loading example
Add a warning to load pickle files only from trusted sources, or replace the example with safer SDF, SMILES, or structured table storage.
  2. FIX-002
    Low
Local output examples can overwrite files
Document that output paths should be chosen carefully, and consider examples that check before overwriting existing files.

Analysis metadata

Audit model: codex

Analysis state: Complete

Scope is limited to the recorded files, lines, methods, and evidence. No runtime or sandbox execution is claimed.

Verify and export

The manifest and lockfile bind install artifacts to cryptographic hashes. This integrity claim is separate from the security assessment.
