Local Media Uploaded in Cloud Mode
Cloud mode accepts local media paths and uploads those files before submitting jobs, creating an external data-transfer risk without an explicit consent step.
The documentation explicitly states that local media paths are uploaded before cloud submission. The transfer is intended but can expose sensitive media if users do not confirm it.

Unpinned Global Package Installation
The setup guide recommends a global, unpinned npm installation, which modifies the host and trusts whichever package version resolves at execution time.
The command installs @volcengine/mediakit-cli globally without a version or integrity constraint. This creates a clear supply-chain and host-modification risk.

Most capabilities are cloud only. Green-screen matting and metadata probing document local support, with additional local format and dependency constraints.
What credentials are required?
Cloud mode requires a MediaKit API key. Store it in the supported environment or credential configuration instead of command arguments.
Can I provide a local media file?
Cloud mode can upload a local path before processing. Confirm the transfer and review data handling requirements before using sensitive media.
Why does the first command return only a task identifier?
Most video operations are asynchronous. Query the returned task identifier until MediaKit reports completion and provides the final result.
Which video analysis features are available?
The skill covers subtitles, OCR, storylines, highlights, metadata, scene segmentation, enhancement, subtitle removal, and background matting.
How should failed jobs be retried?
Reuse the original client token for a retry. Use a new unique token only when you intend to create a separate execution.
