# Check Taiwan Daily Maximum UV Indices

Daily UV maxima can be confused with current exposure levels. This skill queries CWA station data and explains UV categories while identifying daily maximum values.

## Capabilities

- Guide authenticated retrieval of CWA dataset O-A0005-001 with a curl request limited to 20 seconds.
- Select station records by StationID and read UVIndex from records.weatherElement.location\[\].
- Classify UV values into low, moderate, high, very high, and extreme levels using the supplied threshold table.
- Provide general sun protection guidance associated with each UV category.
- Report authorization failures and dataset lookup problems without inventing UV readings.
- Retain station identifiers when names are unavailable and distinguish daily maxima from live readings.

## Use Cases

- Review UV exposure before outdoor activities: Check a selected station daily maximum and its UV category before planning outdoor activity.
- Prepare a station-based visitor briefing: Summarize a station UV category and general protection guidance without presenting the daily maximum as a live reading.
- Inspect CWA UV dataset responses: Retrieve authorized station records, interpret string success values, and distinguish authentication failures from missing station data.

## Prompt Templates

### Check one station

```
Check the daily maximum UV index for station 466950. Include its category and query time. Never show my API key.
```

### Explain protection guidance

```
Look up station 466920 and explain its UV category and general sun protection guidance. Clearly state this is a daily maximum.
```

### Compare two stations

```
Compare daily maximum UV indices for stations 466920 and 466950. Include categories and query time. Report unavailable records without guessing.
```

### Validate an API response

```
Query O-A0005-001 using my securely stored CWA key. Check string success, locate StationID 466950, and report authentication, schema, or freshness uncertainty.
```

## Limitations

- Requires a CWA open-data API key and network access; unauthenticated requests do not provide the dataset.
- Provides daily maximum values, not live observations or hourly forecasts.
- Station names require a separate mapping; the skill does not include a station-name lookup table.
- Returned values may be stale, and API changes can invalidate the documented endpoint or response structure.

## Best Practices

- Keep the CWA key in secure storage and prevent credential exposure through command logs, shared process details, repositories, or replies.
- Include query time and daily maximum labeling; disclose uncertainty about the date represented by the returned value.
- Use verified station mappings and report unavailable data or authentication failures explicitly.

## Anti Patterns

- Presenting a daily maximum or historical sample as a current live UV reading.
- Guessing station names, missing values, or results after an API failure.
- Pasting API keys or unredacted authenticated request URLs into replies, logs, or commits.

## Security Audit

- Audited at: 2026-10-13T04:20:01.636\+00:00
- Summary: All eleven static findings are false positives in the reviewed documentation. The skill describes authorized CWA API access, Markdown formatting, and explicit credential protection. No evidence found of prompt injection, credential exfiltration, system reconnaissance, or concealed executable content.
