# Check Taiwan Power Supply and Reserve Capacity

Taiwan power supply reports combine current readings and forecasts that can be difficult to interpret. This skill retrieves Taipower open data and summarizes load, reserves, supply indicators, and publication time.

## Capabilities

- Guide retrieval of public Taipower supply and demand JSON without an API key or login.
- Identify current load and utilization fields in the response.
- Report forecast maximum supply, peak demand, reserve capacity, and reserve percentage.
- Interpret the documented green, yellow, orange, red, and black supply indicators.
- Read yesterday's actual results and real-time peak records.
- Explain ROC calendar timestamps, power unit conversion, and retrieval failure handling.

## Use Cases

- Check the latest supply status: Review current electricity demand, forecast reserves, and the published supply indicator before discussing national power conditions.
- Prepare a power supply brief: Summarize current readings and forecasts with clear timestamps and units for a factual energy news update.
- Review daily grid conditions: Compare today's forecast with yesterday's actual peak while keeping forecast and observed values distinct.

## Prompt Templates

### Basic supply check

```
Check Taiwan's latest power supply indicator and reserve percentage. Include the source publication time.
```

### Demand and forecast summary

```
Report current load, utilization, forecast maximum supply, peak demand, and reserve capacity. Keep the original units and include publication time.
```

### Compare daily records

```
Compare today's forecast peak with yesterday's actual peak. Identify each record's date and distinguish forecasts from observed values.
```

### Check interpretation and freshness

```
Retrieve the latest Taipower data. Check response success, publication dates, and mixed-day records. Convert power values to MW and explain the supply indicator.
```

## Limitations

- Requires network access and an available Taipower open data endpoint.
- Does not provide regional rationing lists, local outage schedules, or individual electricity account readings.
- Forecast reserves and supply indicators do not guarantee uninterrupted service at a specific location.
- Records can mix dates near midnight; data freshness depends on the source publication time.

## Best Practices

- Include the source publication time and distinguish today's forecast from observed readings.
- Preserve original units or explicitly convert each unit of 10,000 kW to 10 MW.
- Use the documented open data host and report persistent retrieval failures without inventing values.

## Anti Patterns

- Presenting historical examples or stale records as current power conditions.
- Treating a national reserve indicator as a confirmed local outage or rationing schedule.
- Combining midnight records without checking dates or mixing forecast values with actual readings.

## Security Audit

- Audited at: 2026-10-13T03:57:37.632\+00:00
- Summary: All eleven static findings are false positives: Markdown formatting, legitimate public data retrieval, and readable multilingual text explain the detections. The fixed HTTPS request sends no credentials or local file contents, and returned data is not executed. No evidence found of prompt injection, obfuscation, or data exfiltration.
