# Check Taiwan Air Quality by County or Station

Air quality differs between stations, and delayed readings can misrepresent current conditions. This skill retrieves official hourly Taiwan AQI data with pollutants and publication times.

## Capabilities

- Retrieve the official AQX\_P\_432 dataset through an authenticated HTTPS request.
- Filter stations by county and normalize alternative Chinese spellings of county names.
- Compare county stations by AQI without presenting one station as a county-wide measurement.
- Query an exact station name or list candidate station names when the location is uncertain.
- Report AQI, source status, dominant pollutant, particulate concentrations, and publication time.
- Identify missing readings, delayed timestamps, authentication errors, and unavailable API responses.

## Use Cases

- Review local conditions: Check a nearby monitoring station before planning outdoor travel, using its AQI status and publication time.
- Compare monitoring stations: List county stations by AQI and inspect particulate readings without treating one measurement as a county-wide value.
- Prepare an air quality briefing: Summarize official station readings with source status, timestamps, and explicit notes about missing or delayed data.

## Prompt Templates

### Check one station

```
Check the Banqiao station AQI. Include status, dominant pollutant, PM2.5, PM10, and publication time.
```

### Compare county stations

```
List Taipei City monitoring stations from highest to lowest AQI. Include publication times and identify missing readings.
```

### Resolve an uncertain station

```
Find candidate stations for my location in New Taipei City. Ask me to choose if the station name is ambiguous.
```

### Audit a county snapshot

```
Retrieve New Taipei City station data. Report AQI, status, pollutant, PM2.5 averages, and timestamps; flag missing or delayed values without estimating.
```

## Limitations

- Requires a registered MOENV API key, network access, and a shell with curl and jq.
- Provides hourly station observations, not forecasts or street-level exposure measurements.
- Cannot reconstruct missing readings or replace unavailable data with remembered values.
- Provides general AQI information, not medical diagnoses or personalized health assessments.

## Best Practices

- Check publication times and preserve missing readings before describing current conditions.
- Keep API keys out of replies, logs, and process arguments; use protected authentication input.
- Use a private temporary directory and identify each station when comparing county readings.

## Anti Patterns

- Treating the highest station AQI as a single measurement for an entire county.
- Replacing missing or delayed readings with guessed values or remembered observations.
- Publishing API keys or presenting AQI information as personalized medical advice.

## Security Audit

- Audited at: 2026-10-13T03:02:43.368\+00:00
- Summary: Most detections reflect Markdown formatting, official URLs, credential documentation, or readable multilingual text; no evidence found of prompt injection or malicious exfiltration. The fixed temporary-file output can enable symlink overwrite, and the expanded curl argument can expose the API key through process listings. These two findings are confirmed; all other static findings are false positives.
