## Capabilities

- Review error messages and explain why they are unclear.
- Rewrite labels, placeholders, tooltips, and button text with specific actions.
- Improve empty states, success messages, loading states, and confirmation dialogs.
- Check tone against audience knowledge, user state, and product context.
- Verify copy for comprehension, actionability, brevity, consistency, and tone.

## Use Cases

- Clean Up Product Error Messages: Turn vague or technical errors into plain language that explains the problem and next step.
- Review Form Labels and Help Text: Improve form copy so users know what to enter, why it matters, and how formats should look.
- Standardize Interface Terminology: Find inconsistent labels, buttons, and navigation terms across a product workflow.

## Prompt Templates

### Clarify One Message

```
Use clarify on this error message: "Invalid input". The audience is first-time users. Make it clear and actionable.
```

### Improve a Form Flow

```
Use clarify to review the labels and help text in this signup form: [paste copy]. The audience is small business owners. Keep each line concise.
```

### Audit State Messages

```
Use clarify to improve these empty states, loading messages, and success messages: [paste copy]. Explain the issue with each line. Then provide revised copy.
```

### Refine Critical Action Copy

```
Use clarify on this destructive action dialog: [paste copy]. The product tone is calm and direct. Buttons must fit 18 characters. Include safer alternatives.
```

## Limitations

- It depends on accurate product context and audience details from the user.
- It does not perform live usability testing or measure support ticket changes.
- It cannot guarantee brand voice alignment without brand guidelines.
- It is not a full localization or legal review tool.

## Best Practices

- Provide audience, workflow state, and character limits before asking for rewrites.
- Ask for the reason behind each change when you need review notes.
- Check final copy in the real interface to confirm fit and context.

## Anti Patterns

- Do not ask it to invent product facts or policies that users must rely on.
- Do not use vague instructions like make this better without context.
- Do not accept playful error copy for stressful or high-risk moments.

## Security Audit

- Audited at: 2026-07-06T20:00:43.866\+00:00
- Summary: The only static finding is a false positive. SKILL.md line 59 contains a sample bad error message, not system reconnaissance or host inspection.
