Installation context

Historical evidence

This report may not describe the currently installable artifact. Open the current Skill page for install guidance.

Open current Skill page

This report does not block or authorize the manifest or ZIP.

Static findings primarily matched Markdown backticks, example URLs, relative links, and natural-language schedules, so they were marked false positive. Two contextual risks remain: the allowed npx command can execute an unpinned npm package, and monitor notifications can send page diffs to external destinations. Publish with clear install and notification warnings, or tighten the allowed tools.

Risk findings

Confirmed security concerns are separated from items that still need review.

Confirmed security concerns (2)

RISK-001 High
Unpinned npx Package Execution
The allowed-tools block permits Bash(npx firecrawl *). Running npx can download and execute a package from npm, so the package source and version should be pinned or verified.
The allowed command is explicit in the skill metadata. The package name is fixed, but npx may still execute remote package code when the CLI is not installed.
RISK-002 Medium
External Notification Data Exposure
The skill configures monitors to send page-change events to webhook URLs and email recipients. If a user monitors sensitive pages, those notifications can disclose content outside the workspace.
The webhook and email options are documented, and monitor payloads include page status and diffs. The feature is intended, so the risk depends on user approval and destination trust.

Remediation

Suggested fixes recorded by this audit. Applying them is the maintainer’s responsibility.

  1. FIX-001
    High
Unpinned npx execution is allowed by the skill metadata.
Prefer a preinstalled, verified firecrawl CLI command, or pin the npx package version and document package verification steps.
  2. FIX-002
    Medium
Webhook and email notifications can disclose monitored content.
Require explicit user confirmation for every destination and warn before monitoring private or sensitive pages.
  3. FIX-003
    Low
Static analysis misclassifies many Markdown examples as executable patterns.
Keep examples clearly fenced and label sample URLs, emails, and relative links as documentation placeholders.
