site-architecture
Plan Clear Website Architecture
Unstructured websites make pages difficult to find and maintain. This skill creates page hierarchies, navigation plans, URL maps, and internal linking recommendations.

Test it
Using "site-architecture". Plan a small SaaS website with features, pricing, customer stories, resources, and documentation.
Expected outcome:
- Primary navigation: Features, Pricing, Customers, Resources, and Docs.
- Core hierarchy: Homepage, section hubs, detail pages, company pages, and legal pages.
- URL patterns: /features/name, /customers/name, /resources/type/name, and /docs/section/page.
- Internal links connect feature pages with customer stories, documentation, and pricing.
Using "site-architecture". Reorganize a content site with many uncategorized articles and hidden guides.
Expected outcome:
- Create topic hubs for major audiences and move related articles beneath each hub.
- Add Guides to primary navigation and expose secondary topics through hub pages.
- Map every changed URL to a permanent redirect and preserve strong existing URLs.
- Link each article to its topic hub and relevant guides.
Using "site-architecture". Add integration and comparison pages without crowding the main navigation.
Expected outcome:
- Create /integrations and /compare hubs linked from relevant product and resource pages.
- Use consistent detail paths such as /integrations/name and /compare/name.
- List selected integrations in product navigation and place complete directories on each hub.
- Connect comparison pages to features, pricing, and customer evidence.

Skillstore Score
Why this score Evidence Confidence: HighWhat You Can Build
Plan a New Product Site
Define pages, navigation, URLs, and internal links before design and development begin.
Restructure a Growing Website
Group existing pages, reduce navigation complexity, and identify redirects for moved content.
Organize Documentation
Create section hierarchies, sidebar navigation, breadcrumbs, and predictable documentation URLs.
Try These Prompts
Plan the site architecture for a [site type]. Include pages for [business needs] and serve [primary audiences]. Provide a page hierarchy and URL map.
Design header, footer, mobile, and breadcrumb navigation for this page list: [pages]. Prioritize [business goals] and explain each navigation placement.
Reorganize this content inventory: [pages and URLs]. Preserve [important URLs], identify redirects, reduce depth, and provide before-and-after hierarchies.
Design architecture for [site] with [number] templated pages across [sections]. Include hubs, URL rules, navigation exposure, internal links, and orphan-page controls.
Best Practices
- Provide business goals, audiences, site type, and important pages before planning.
- Share the current URL inventory when restructuring an existing website.
- Review page priorities and navigation labels with user research or analytics.
Avoid
- Do not change established URLs without a complete redirect map.
- Do not place every page in the primary navigation.
- Do not treat visual hierarchy as a substitute for content inventory.
