Most static alerts match Markdown formatting, ordinary imports, serialization constants, or readable Chinese documentation rather than threats. Backup creation can overwrite an earlier backup within one second. Additional risks include malformed variable patches, partial patch commits, and symbolic-link writes; no malicious intent or exfiltration evidence was found.

Variable Patches Omit the Marshal Integer Type Marker

The variable planner replaces an entire serialized node with encode_int output, which encodes only its payload. The missing integer marker can corrupt saves.

The reader consumes a type byte before read_int, while the planner replaces the full node with encode_int payload alone. This directly contradicts the format.

Failed Patch Validation Does Not Prevent Partial Writes

Invalid patches are skipped, but valid patches are still committed and the apply command returns success. Interdependent changes can leave inconsistent save state.

The failed list is printed, but only an empty applied list prevents writing. Mixed valid and invalid patches therefore produce partial saves.

Predictable Temporary Files Permit Symbolic-Link Clobbering

atomic_write writes through a predictable .allcg-tmp path without exclusive creation. A preexisting symbolic link can redirect truncation to another writable file.

Path.write_bytes follows an existing symbolic link before os.replace runs. Exploitation requires control of the temporary directory entry and writable destination permissions.

Backup names use second-resolution timestamps, and copy2 overwrites an existing destination. Two writes within one second can replace the original backup with already-modified data.
