Do I need an API key or account?

No. The documented JMA endpoints provide public data without an API key or login.

Does this skill provide weather forecasts?

No. It covers observations. The instructions refer forecast requests to the separate jma-weather skill.

How frequently are observations updated?

The instructions describe ten-minute observation intervals. Always check and report the timestamp returned by JMA.

Why are some measurements missing?

Stations measure different weather elements. Pressure is available only at some stations, and absent keys should not be interpreted as zero.

How does the skill select a nearby station?

The Python example converts station coordinates to decimal degrees and minimizes squared coordinate differences. This is an approximate proximity calculation.

What software and access are required?

The download examples require curl and network access to JMA. The nearby-station example also requires Python 3 and a downloaded station table.
