dfam-check
Check Mesh Printability Before You Print
Mesh files often fail during slicing because walls, overhangs, units, or topology were not checked against the selected process. This skill measures those geometry facts locally and turns them into evidence-based DfAM guidance.

Usando "dfam-check". Check this STL for FDM printing with a 45 degree self-supporting angle.
Resultado esperado:
- Watertightness: pass. The mesh is suitable for topology review.
- Wall thickness: the sampled fifth percentile is below the FDM supported-wall limit. Thicken the affected region and re-measure.
- Overhangs: report the measured down-facing area below 45 degrees and review orientation candidates.
Usando "dfam-check". Which orientation should I use for this part?
Resultado esperado:
The recommended axis-aligned orientation is the candidate with the lowest support area, provided its build height remains acceptable. Treat the support estimate as a cost signal and verify the final choice in a slicer.
Usando "dfam-check". Can this mesh be evaluated for SLS?
Resultado esperado:
Yes. Compare wall thickness and feature limits for SLS, but do not apply support-angle findings. Enclosed cavities still require a trapped-powder escape review because this tool does not measure it.
Auditoría de seguridad
SeguroAll 31 static findings are false positives: 25 external-command matches are Markdown backticks, five blocker matches are ordinary geometry logic, and one network match is a provenance URL. The six reviewed files show local mesh measurement and reporting, with no evidence of unauthorized network access, command execution, or prompt injection.

Validate a prototype mesh
Check walls, overhangs, scale, and watertightness before sending a prototype to a print service.
Compare manufacturing processes
Evaluate one mesh against candidate process limits and identify which measurements need process-specific data.
Prepare a redesign review
Use measured failures and orientation tradeoffs to create concrete geometry changes before CAD regeneration.
Prueba estos prompts
Check the attached mesh for printability. Ask for the target process if it is missing, then report the measured geometry facts and the main risks.
Compare this mesh for FDM, SLS, SLA/DLP, metal PBF, and MJF. Use the process limits reference, separate measured results from missing checks, and explain the strongest constraints.
Measure the mesh with the target process angle, then evaluate candidate orientations. Recommend the best option using support area and build height, with the tradeoff stated clearly.
Create a prioritized redesign brief from the measured DfAM failures. Include the evidence field, target dimensions or angles, uncertainty, and the re-measurement step after CAD regeneration.
Mejores prácticas
- Provide the target process, material, layer height, and machine datasheet when available.
- Measure the exact uploaded mesh and cite both the measured field and the selected process limit.
- Confirm units when the scale check reports a suspiciously small bounding-box diagonal.
Evitar
- Do not infer printability from a render, generator script, or triangle count.
- Do not silently rescale geometry or treat a sampled minimum as exhaustive proof.
- Do not apply support-angle findings to powder processes or present support volume as slicer accuracy.
